If I wrote a letter to my old dog, it would go something like this: Dear Max, You are the most amazing heart I've ever known and, while I hate that you're going gray and I can see cataracts forming in your gorgeous brown eyes, these signs help me realize to appreciate you more every day. Not that I didn't ever not appreciate you. I mean, you've been amazing from day one, but each gray hair on your once-jet black face means less time in front of us than behind. I can't believe I used to complain that it was hard to take a picture of your face! Now your black nose and brown eyes stand out in a wash of gray. You're a total silver fox! I'm lucky you picked me out at the shelter back in 2007. I'm lucky you've been healthy and have only needed that one ACL surgery a few years ago. I just feel so lucky that you love me the way you do. I'll do my best to keep you healthy and happy for as long as possible. You're the best boy. Love, Mom

Old Dog Letters
Old dogs are, paws down, simply the best. This page is meant as a celebration of old dogs everywhere. They love us with all their hearts and, in return, they just want a nice, slow walk around the block, soft warm bed at night, and a few of their favorite snacks. If you were to write a letter to your old dog, what would it say?
